I stumbled on this great article about e-mail subject lines. Which must be very compelling, or no one will read the rest.
It's just more WIFM, right?
There's a great piece on Social Media Today, by Nate Goodman: "What do you mean my email subject line sucks?" that explains a lot of dos and don'ts and how tos.
Most surprising to me were some of the "don't" items. Such as don't mention a big discount, (smaller discounts work better), don't ask for help of any kind.
FREE, of course, is not a discount. FREE is it's own special thing.
Let's hope some of the people mailing us this year read this post, and make their endless e-mails a little more worth looking at.
