I believe I have finally found a hotel bathroom that has enough towel racks. Not a fancy hotel, mind you -- the kind of affordable place a road warrior stays in.
This may sound like a silly thing to you. However you have probably seen those signs they all have that say something like: "Help us protect the environment, please reuse your towels". These signs usually have a cuddly looking mammal on them, llike a sea otter, perhaps. Or a rainforest image. You know what I mean -- all green-enviro-feelgood stuff.
Most of us reuse our towels at home, of course. We hang them on racks to dry. Said racks are often in short supply in the hotels in question.
This hotel has the racks, because they are actually handrails for the handicapped. This hotel does not advertise itself as a place for the handicapped, disabled and elderly, but it is well equipped for them.
The shower has no step-over, you could roll right into it if you wanted to.
The door has two peep-holes, one at standing height, one at sitting height. Wide doorways complete the picture.
We keep hearing that the population is aging. It's nice to see that some organizations are actually responding to this trend.
