This time, the new owners have really overhauled the little diner. No more booths, now it's all cute little tables. The whole interior decor was refreshed.
Naturally, I wondered what they had done with the washroom.
As is often the case in my neighborhood, the buildings are old and the washroom is downstairs. The stairs are usually steep and narrow. This one was no different.
The bathroom itself had been nicely handled -- all cleaned up, a flower arrangement. But the hallway and the actual door diminished all that good work.
You can't do a lot with a stairwell, but you can try a few things that help.
- Hang some colorful framed posters that coordinate with the decor of the main space
- Put in surfaces you can easily keep clean on doors in particular
I was impressed that the new proprietors had not overlooked the bathroom in their major clean-up.
I know that the other blogfesters include a number of design gurus -- hoping you have better ideas than mine!
